It’s time to Soul Limbo!!

England regain the Ashes after sweeping Australia aside in a 197 run victory at the Oval. In this the fifth and final match of the Test series England dominated early on only to see Michael Hussey put on a century and threaten to take the game away from the host nation.

Both teams came to this game with one win a piece and truly it was the only way to wrap up an Ashes series.

In the end the Aussies just couldn’t keep England from victory and the home side prevailed.

A blistering bowling attack lead by Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann took the Aussies from 73 for none to 133 for 8.

Broad put in a magnificent performance with a four over spell for just 8 runs and devastated the Aussies by taking five wickets.

The final day at Lords in the 2nd Ashes Test.

Australia on a run chase to reach 522 needed 209 more runs to reach the world record target set by England.

In order to win, England needed to take five wickets, and that’s exactly what they did.

It was the final Ashes Test Match at the Oval – and Australia already staring down the barrel of a gun had made a valiant attempt at a fighting comeback. They were relying on their captain Ricky Ponting to play the innings of his life.

It wasn’t to be though.

Michael Hussey played a shot directly to Freddie Flintoff off the bowling of Steve Harmison.

It was a magical moment to watch as Flintoff made a direct hit to the stumps and ended Pontings dream of retaining the Ashes for Australia.
